My bucket is made with one inch northern pine and steambent, green oak hoops. The hoops are fastened with pure copper tacks and rose headed nails. The rope handle is made of 5/8 inch Manila hemp.

My bucket is so tough it may outlast most owners! You can leave the bucket out in the rain or salt air. Don't worry about rust or corrosion. The pine, oak and copper I use will weather and develop a natural patina.

The bucket holds 3-1/2 gallons. It stands 12 inches high and its diameter is 13 inches. It weighs just over 6 pounds.

The bottom is made of a single piece of select 3/4 inch pine and is strong enough to hold tools and other heavy items. To make it easier to handle and empty the bucket, I put a comfortable "fingergrip" into the bottom.   See photos of my buckets.
